“Treading Water”

Torside Reservoir Snapped by Mitch Hicks

“I’m in deep water

My lungs no longer cry out
Legs leaden stretching
Arms once so strong now fall asleep
Eyes mellow not in anger
Lips tormented with sorrow
Under currents swirling testicles
Toes curling around tangling weeds
Drowning in my own lament”

  1. Such sad words mixed with such beauty…such a gorgeous snap with grieving melancholy…great art I say.

  2. It’s taken me 4 years to add some words to this snap!!
    Lovely comments Lisa……Thanks X

    • moments tucked away in our
      minds eye
      while we sleep to dream
      other thoughts
      go by
      alas we rise and see
      the shining light
      through yonder window
      our hearts
      never the same
      we ache

  3. Such sweet words!!

  4. Seems a bit odd to say a ‘ beautiful lament’ but couldn’t think of anything better…just a wonderful poem.

  5. Thanks Charlie!! I know what you mean!! Cheers!!
