Little Horwood Duck Race 2012

A small village with a big heart

Once a year locals emerge

Gather in wind rain or snow

Age is left home by the telly

Bucks ducks cardboard boxes

Mr orange man with megaphone

Tumbling stream over brook

Oh they flutter splutter ducks that race

Winslow town may have it’s hunt and warm mulled wine

But Little Horwood without the crowds brings greater joy

To the Shoulder of Mutton smiling faces tread thatched and beamed

Sounds of country folk drinking beer wishing all Christmas cheer

Quirky Boxing day morning traditions carry me back each year!
