Iceland land of the midnight sun

Posted in Collage, Head, Landscape, observation with tags , , on June 27, 2017 by lkthayer

A few snaps taken on my trip to Iceland… Quite amazing that there is daylight 24 hours during this time of year! I hope to return and add the winter northern lights to the midnight sun….

Oooh la la thru the window!

I made this collage using three snaps I took…. Two featured the artwork of the charming engaging French artist Laurence Cammas. The third snap was taken outside the Make Space Studios…. Laurence kindly sat by the window so I could snap her next to the sexy Oooh la la artwork she painted inside her studio.  Her oriental portrait painting looking thru the window was snapped from the corridor as I looked back into the artists doorway on my way out!  The next day I blended and cropped the images to make what you now see…..  It was a great pleasure to hear from Laurence by email that she has posted this image onto her Instagram.  https://preprod.instagram.com/laurence_cms/

Snaps taken in the King John car park 3rd Decemember 2016

I’ve been waiting a couple of years to get into the King John car park off Holywell Lane. The car park is now a building site of regeneration. But I took my chance to slip thru a broken barrier fence to snap the remaining artwork left on the walls. Quite a few of the snaps were painted by  local artist Jim Vision. Sorry I can’t credit the other artists… Over the years there have been many murals painted here. Access has always been a problem due to the security car parking gate attendants keeping us snappers out!!

Hackney Wick (please don’t piss here)

Just a few snaps from a trip to Hackney Wick to see the “Save Yourselves” exhibition. Good to see so many street artists supporting Adia Wilde in the struggle to save the artyfarty haven of The Wick. Lots of sadness I felt in seeing the area being destroyed as I strolled around snapping away!

Sometimes hunting down street art throws up the unexpected… On my way back to Hackney Wick Station having spent the day snapping street art in East London.  I spotted the well-respected street art photographer & street art tour guide guru Dave Stuart. Always a pleasure talking to Dave and I hope he likes my snap collage of the day! Well worth checking out Dave’s websites below.
