Work in progress from street artist Trafik along Pedley Street, off Brick Lane. Looks like this is going to be a real a stunner… Nice guy Trafik, he gave me a chocolate as I was snapping him with roller in hand painting the white squares.

Flaming Easter

I made this collage snap using two snaps  I took in London. One was taken in the Nomadic Community Gardens around a bonfire, the other snap was of artwork by Otto Schade stenciled onto a wall… Looking back on the photos taken during that day, I just had to blend them as the colours were vibrating out just burning to rise up like a phoenix.

Enjoy your hot cross buns folks!!!

Elvis the pelvis is still hip it seems in East London. This highly clever x-ray style artwork, hand painted with spray cans by the brilliant street artist Shok-1. You can find this on the outside metal gates of the old Truman Brewery yard on Hanbury Street,  just off Brick Lane… Maybe the best street art I have seen in London so far this year!

dscf4946eApproaching the end of a year of a few thousand snaps and with thoughts of the many snaps I have not shown. The artwork of JXC snapped in Leake Street is one I want to share, as it shows so much emotion in such a troubled world. Quite an eventful year of travel for me, but my mind and body deeply feels the pain of decline… Not sure that I  can add much more to this blog anymore. Your support has always been so heartwarming, thanks…

May I wish you all a very happy festive safe and enjoyable countdown to the end of 2016… Quite a year in many ways…….

Rabbit or Hare it’s still there!

dscf3589bRabbit or Hare it’s still there!….. Belgian street artist Roa painted this lovely piece along the Hackney Road in 2009. So well-loved by the locals and street art fans alike. The local council took a different view in 2010 and demanded the owners of the wall to remove or cover it up… People power won the battle to save the artwork with over 2,000 signatures petitioned against the council having their way!!! It’s now becoming quite rare to see street art surviving so long, but Roa is such a respected artist that you can still find more of his artwork in situ years after they were painted. Weathering and mindless tagging are slowly defacing this mural, but at least it’s still making folks smile as they walk and drive past.
